Bali Hard Rock Hotel Marks 42nd Anniversary of its Brand

June 14, 2013 saw Hard Rock Hotel Bali celebrating its 42nd Founder’s Day.
Joining hundreds of Hard Rock Hotels around the globe, Hard Rock Bali marked the day in 1971 when the first Hard Rock Cafe in London opened.

Ayana Resort & Spa Host Hotel for APEC

Chedi Sakala - Tanjung Benoa New Chedi-Branded Luxury Resorts in Bali

GHM has unveiled plans to launch new Chedi-branded luxury resorts in Bali.

First to open this year will be the 261-room Chedi Sakala. This will be followed in 2015 by The Chedi Nusa Penida in Crystal Bay – a 100-villa resort which GHM is currently developing in partnership with Singapore’s Sinni Villas.

These properties will add to the two existing GHM properties in Bali, and the luxury hotel management company’s president, Hans R. Jenni, said plans were in place  to expand its portfolio even further.

Set across 2.4 hectares of land on the northern tip of the Nusa Dua peninsula, The Chedi Sakala will be GHM’s third property on Bali. It will feature 247 suites and 14 one- and two-bedroom pool villas, plus two swimming pools, a spa, health club, ballroom and kids’ club with water sports. The hotel’s F&B outlets will include a French fine-dining restaurant, outdoor tapas area and lagoon bar. Guests will also have direct access to Benoa Beach.

The resort is scheduled to open by the end of 2013, when it will join The Legian Bali in Seminyak and The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah in Ubud in GHM’s Bali portfolio. But this portfolio will increase to five in the coming years.

The Bali openings are just part of a global expansion plan for GHM. The company is planning to develop Chedi properties in China, India, Japan, Morocco and the UAE, adding to existing properties in Thailand and Oman

Ritz Carlton Returns to Bali New Beachfront Luxury Resort to Open in 2014

Ritz-Carlton will return to Bali next year with the launch of a new luxury resort in the Nusa Dua area.

The brand has been without a presence on the Indonesian island since 2009, when the previous Ritz-Carlton Bali was rebranded as the Ayana Resort & Spa. But in 2014, Marriott’s luxury label will return to Bali with the opening of a new 288-key beachfront property.

“Bali is a naturally beautiful destination that global travellers have consistently returned to. We are delighted to be creating an authentic Balinese resort in Sawagan which will offer breathtaking views, carefully curated experiences and recreational activities,” said Herve Humler, Ritz-Carlton’s president & chief operations officer.
The resort will feature a range of hotel rooms, suites and villas, plus two wedding chapels, outdoor event space and a ballroom. Its six F&B outlets will include a cliff-side restaurant built into a natural cave, a beach grill, Indonesian restaurant, Japanese restaurant and pool bar. There will also be a Ritz-Carlton Spa and a water sports centre.

Ritz-Carlton also operates two properties in Jakarta, while the ultra-luxury Bulgari resort in Bali is also managed by Ritz-Carlton.
